RIC45 - Teenage Birthday!

My niece will be turning 13 next month and I wanted to make a special card for her. You only become a teenager once. At least (based on what's happening in my house these days!) I hope so!

I came across my ribbon box and an idea was born. I decided to make a curtain of ribbons, to partially conceal the  birthday message.  It might interest you to know that I probably used more ribbon on this card than I've used in all of the cards I've ever made. Combined. LOL!

I still had the current Runway Inspired Challenge on my mind, too, so I'll link this up there. It's a little more over the top than my last entry

But I think it's fun and very celebratory and perfect for a new teenager! Here's a view with the ribbon "curtains" held aside so that the message can be clearly seen:

  21. Now this is what I call creative! A ribbon curtain. So cool!! Although I have enough ribbon to go around the Earth, twice, I don't think I've ever actually used this much either. Good for you! Nice tie in with the RIC.

  22. This is such fun, and perfect for a teenager. It reminds me of those hanging beads that people sometimes used as doors way way back when. Everything old is new again.
